A woman who went blind at the age of 11 has miraculously had her sight restored after hitting her head on a coffee table 13 years later, SIA reports quoting the Metro.
Lisa Reid, from Auckland, went blind as a child due to a tumour pressing down on her optic nerve.
But incredibly her sight was completely restored when she accidentally knocked her head into a coffee table several years later.
Ms Reid had been leaning down to kiss her guide dog Ami goodnight on November 15, 2000 when she hit the furniture. She was 24 at the time.
The next morning, she woke up and she could see again.
"Nobody knows what happened or can explain it," Ms Reid, now 38, told MailOnline.
Ms Reid, who is now a mother to daughter Maddison, revealed her story to raise awareness of New Zealand’s Blind Foundation.
