Leandra Becerra has celebrated what is believed to be her 127th birthday, making her the world’s oldest living person.
Becerra lives with her grandson’s family in Zapopan, western Mexico. All five of her children have passed away. She is wheelchair-bound and sleeps for most of the day, but her grandson Samuel Alvear says she is in relatively good health.
The previous Guinness Book of Records longest lifespan title holder was Jeanne Louise Calment, from France, who lived for 122 years.
