In connection with spread of Ebola virus in some countries, sanitary-quarantine control by Azerbaijan’s customs agencies were tightened, special seminars jointly with relevant bodies were held for officers in the border checkpoints, State Custom Committee told SIA.
The customs agencies organized exchange of information with the relevant state bodies to define the persons coming from the countries where the virus was recorded and other issues on control of these persons by health care organizations.
At the same time, relevant works on anti-epidemic and prophylactic, disinfection measures, as well as putting the persons crossing border under medical observation and investigating them have been carried out to tighten the measures against Ebola virus.
Within the framework of taken measures, technical devices – thermovisor cameras are used to measure temperature remotely. Along with this, “Attention! Ebola temperature” memory booklets prepared by sanitary-quarantine inspection under the Ministry of Health have been provided in the checkpoints to increase awareness level about the Ebola virus of persons crossing the border.
Besides, in order to raise awareness about the Ebola, the persons passing through the border checkpoints are given special booklets compiled by the Sanitary and Quarantine Inspection of the Health Ministry of Azerbaijan.
