The World Bank has praised the Azerbaijani government`s reforms to develop agriculture.
WB Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Laura Tuck said the bank hails measures taken in Azerbaijan in the past years to improve the agrarian sector as she met the country`s Agriculture Minister Heydar Asadov. Ms. Tuck emphasized the importance of relevant decrees and executive orders signed by the Azerbaijani President.
Minister Asadov hailed the WB`s projects in Azerbaijan, and lauded the bank`s assisting the country in carrying out agricultural reforms.
Following the meeting the two attended a roundtable marking the 10th anniversary of WB-funded Azerbaijan Rural Investment Project. They also discussed the execution of the second Azerbaijan Rural Investment Project, and met representatives of 15 rural communities cooperating with the project.
